Learn about the history of New England’s storied harvest season! Find out how children helped during this important time of year and how their school year looked very different because of it. See the Clark Blacksmith Shop and make a nail ring, make candles and tin sconces, tour our gardens and learn about seed saving, decorate a gourd, hear the history of the modern Jack-o-Lantern, and more!
Visitors will arrive at their start time (10am or 1pm) and meet up with a Museum guide who will bring them around to different hands-on activity stations throughout the museum. Historical information about the New England Harvest season will be shared along the the way. Children must be accompanied by an adult and adults are encouraged to participate in hands-on activities as well.
As of October 21, 2021 mask wearing is no longer required in indoor spaces, however encouraged.
This family tour is geared for ages 7-12, all are welcome and lasts approximately 2 hours. Please check in at the Museum Gift Shop. This tour is rain or shine. Comfortable walking shoes recommended. Some locations for this event are wheelchair accessible.
