Summer Solstice Celebration

Welcome the coming of the summer season in Storrowton Village with a celebration of summer pastimes and New England traditions, featuring blacksmithing activities and demonstrations all day at our Blacksmith Collective, Juneteenth Speaker Series to learn the historic significance of this day, tours of museum spaces with our costumed guides, a visit to our gardens, solstice-inspired gentle yoga and more!

Summer Solstice Celebration brings together the best of Storrowton Village Museum with hands-on activities for all ages. Stay for the day or visit after lunch in the Beer Bistro or Storrowton Tavern. All visitors must check in at the tent located outside the Gift Shop and receive a wristband to access museum spaces, demonstrations, and activities.

    • All indoor and outdoor museum and demonstration spaces open
    • Gift Shop opens
    • Blacksmith Tradition Demonstration: Christening of the Forge
11 am
    • Juneteenth Lecture Livestream with J. Anthony Guillory Ph.D.: The Significance of Juneteenth in History and the Present
12 pm
    • Early American Games on the Green
1 pm
    • Juneteenth Livestream Panel Discussion: Land Ownership, Generational Wealth, & Inequality, with Nedra Lee, UMass Boston and John Diffley, Esq. with moderator J. Anthony Guillory Ph.D.
2 pm
    • Yoga on the Green with instructor Jessica K. Fontaine, RYT200
    • Blacksmith Collective Silent Auction Ends
    • Museum, demonstrations, and Gift Shop closes

Tickets are $12 per person if purchased by 4pm on 6/18. Tickets available on the day of the event $15 per person. Under 6 free. Admission includes access to all museum buildings and gardens, craft and trade demonstrations, games on the green, Juneteenth Lecture Series (livestream-only participation free). Additional fees apply for Blacksmith Apprentice Experience ($25pp) and Yoga on the Green ($5pp).

Ticket good for entire day. Stay all day or stop in for what interests you. $12 in advance, $15 day of event. SVM follows CDC guidelines and asks that unvaccinated visitors wear masks.
